Marsilius Academy “[At the] Limits of Life”
[Deadline: 2023/07/02] From September 10 to 15, 2023, the Marsilius Academy "[At the] Limits of Life" for PhD students and post-docs will take place in Heidelberg, Germany. It aims to bring together a highly interdisciplinary, international group of early career researchers from the humanities, arts, natural, life and social sciences to discuss societal, judicial and ethical challenges arising from recent breakthroughs in biology, biomedicine, and bioengineering. Every applicant has the opportunity to request the reception of a stipend that either eliminates the participation fee (usually 750€, including room and board) or assists with travel costs (up to 2000€). |

[Deadline: 2023/08/27] The College for Social Sciences and Humanities – part of the University Alliance Ruhr – invites advanced international scholars in the social sciences and humanities with an excellent research profile to apply for a fellowship until August 27, 2023. Fellows have the opportunity to pursue an independent research project with a tandem partner from the University Alliance Ruhr (University of Duisburg-Essen, Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University). The six-months residencies in Essen may start in spring or autumn 2024. |

Funding opportunity for Japanese-German collaborations
[Deadline: 2023/09/05] The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation)’s partner organizations, the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED), have launched calls for the program Adopting Sustainable Partnerships for Innovative Research Ecosystem (ASPIRE) to fund large-scale international collaborative joint research projects and promote researcher’s mobility. In this program researchers in Japan can receive funding to collaborate with researchers in Germany who have an existing grant by the DFG. |
